GOOD
SOIL
The Story of Good Soil
"The Word of God is source and seed; it comes to die and sprout and grow.
So make your dark earth welcome warm; root deep the grain God bent to sow."
- Sister Delores Dufner
In the Pacific Northwest, the life that grows from our soil is
incredible: beautiful forests, sweeping beach grasses, fields of
wheat, apple orchards, and grapes for wine (especially pinot noir,
of course!). The fruits of good soil are abundant and varied.
We believe that cultivating the health and hearts of students is
an investment in the abundant and varied fruits they have to offer
our shared world. Through our values of building community,
deepening faith, expanding minds, and inspiring service,
we have identified two core programs:
-
Christus House, our intentional living community; and
-
Hearth & Table, our weekly community kitchen and free meal.
Our call to love and serve students does not depend on faith affiliation. We are committed to curating spaces that are safe for everyone, and to fostering student leadership that reflects the diverse population we serve.
