Welcome, Chef Clare!

We are so excited to welcome a new Hearth & Table chef to lead our program!

"Hi, I’m Clare! I recently moved from Madison, Wisconsin to Eugene and have been working in the culinary industry for 10 years after getting my associates in culinary arts while living in Minneapolis. I was most recently a baking and pastry arts instructor for an employment training program and loved teaching others to bake, be confident in the kitchen, and the science behind baking. 

I approach the kitchen in the words of Julia Child,  'This is my invariable advice to people: Learn how to cook — try new recipes, learn from your mistakes, be fearless, and, above all, have fun.'

Outside of the kitchen I love being creative and working on art and hanging out with my wife and our dog and cat. I am a big nerd that loves puns and comics. I am so excited to get cooking and seeing the friendships and community that comes out of sharing a meal together."
